Jewish Lords' Witness

Introduction

Having previously looked at the topic of
Quantum Mechanics (QM), I have found myself looking into the topic of quantum computing (QC). It seemed to me that, given I reached the conclusion that the perverse nature of QM in God’s physical creation was giving us an insight into the true reality of a spirit-based existence, then QC might have something to say on the matter.

Frankly, I find the topic of QC very hard to get my head around even with my classical computer science background but the following links are helpful for those interested in the technology (
https://computer.howstuffworks.com/quantum-computer.htm and https://www.ibm.com/think/topics/quantum-computing). However, one aspect that is very clear is that quantum computers will be significantly more powerful than any computer based on current Turing machine capabilities (https://www.britannica.com/technology/Turing-machine). A major implication of this is that privacy on the internet and connected applications will be totally open since QC will be capable of breaking current encryption algorithms with ease in seconds. Consequently, QC resistant encryption will be required going forward as described at https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/technology/world-quantum-day-is-the-internet-ready-for-the-biggest-security-threat-of-all-time/ar-AA1CSFLT?ocid=mailsignout&pc=U591&cvid=3bf618be5371425199f1dfcef6ba7d30&ei=796.

This then started me thinking about why we need privacy in this system of things and what might be the relevance of all this in the current system of things compared with the prospective Kingdom of God on Earth. So, I thought I would consider what the Good Book has to say on privacy and how it might apply going forward. Obviously, computer technology did not exist in biblical times but I believe that the Bible offers timeless advice on all aspects of life for those with their eyes open.

Please forgive my attempts at equating the biblical notions of privacy with those of today’s information technology. It is my view of the spiritual equivalence with
Quantum Mechanics that has provoked this train of thought. Amen.

The Great Quantum Computer in The Sky

One could perhaps equate God and the Holy Spirit with a quantum computer. As the most powerful of spirits, they possess the ability to break any encryption methodology that a man could devise to hide the darkest or brightest secrets of his spiritual heart (check out my previous
Mind, Heart and Spirit paper):

5 Therefore not before proper season any thing judge you, till may come the Lord, who both will bring to light the things hidden of the darkness, and will make manifest the purposes of the hearts; and then the praise shall be to each one from the God. (1 Corinthians 4 ED)

12 for the reckoning of God is living, and working, and sharp above every two-edged sword, and piercing unto the dividing asunder both of soul and spirit, of joints also and marrow, and a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart;

13 and there is not a created thing not manifest before Him, but all things {are} naked and open to His eyes -- with whom is our reckoning. (Hebrews 4 YLT)

One might consider God as a hypersonic web crawler, reading all the web pages of mankind in an instant:

3 The eyes of Jehovah are in every place, Keeping watch upon the evil and the good. (Proverbs 15 ASV)

Mankind can only look at the public outward physical appearance of a man; God can cut through the physical to see through to man’s spiritual heart:

7 But Jehovah said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: for [Jehovah seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but Jehovah looketh on the heart. (1 Samuel 16 ASV)

In considering David’s famous Psalm 23, one might equate the protection he got from Jehovah to be akin to that provided by powerful anti-virus and spyware software when surfing the web. The power of the Heavenly QC will keep all manner of evil doers at bay:

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (Psalms 23 KJV)

Similarly in his Psalm 27:

5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. (Psalms 27 KJV)

David also acknowledged Jehovah’s ability to know all his actions and innermost thoughts:

1 O Jehovah, thou hast searched me, and known [me].
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising; Thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou searchest out my path and my lying down, And art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, But, lo, O Jehovah, thou knowest it altogether. (Psalms 139 ASV)

Jehovah communicates with His servants privately with words meant for their ears only. I guess this would be akin to communicating via a secure tunnel or Virtual Private Network (VPN):

12 and after the earthquake a fire; but Jehovah was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah? (1 Kings 19 ASV)

Ultimately, we are all IP addresses with which God can communicate as the heavenly super-server. That communication is via the connection of our spiritual heart Application Program Interface (API) into the heavenly internet (take another look at the
Mind, Heart and Spirit paper regarding my comments on the Matrix). The faithful ones have removed their natural firewall through the circumcision of their hearts to enable an unencumbered two-way communication with God. Unfaithful mankind still have their firewalls in place through their spiritual uncircumcision, but that does not prevent God from breaking down that protection and knowing the evil in their hearts:

28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither [is that] circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he [is] a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision [is that] of the heart, in the spirit, [and] not in the letter; whose praise [is] not of men, but of God. (Romans 2 KJV).

Communication

As proposed in the previous section, God’s communication with the righteous is private and hack-proof from the unrighteous:

32 For an abomination to Jehovah {is} the perverted, And with the upright {is} His secret counsel. (Proverbs 3 YLT)

In a case not too dissimilar to today, the disciples wanted a private conversation with Jesus as to why they were not able to exorcise a demon that He could. This was a conversation that they did not want made public. Why similar to today? Well, let us suppose this was all happening in today’s technological world and they were taking part in a group chat on-line. They would want that session to be safely encrypted so that no ‘unauthorised’ individuals could eavesdrop on their querying of Christ:

19 Then coming up to Jesus privately, the disciples said, Why were we not able to cast him out? (Matthew 17 GLT)

28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, [How is it] that we could not cast it out? (Mark 9 ASV)

This sense of secrecy continued on their journeying through Galilee, where Jesus shared with the disciples His prospective fate. He clearly did not want any miscreants knowing this outside of their circle in case it risked short-circuiting God’s plan for Him:

30 And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know [it].
31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. (Mark 9 KJV)

Similarly, Jesus shared with his disciples privately that no-one apart from them at that time knew that He was the son of God:

22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and [he] to whom the Son will reveal [him].
23 And he turned him unto [his] disciples, and said privately, Blessed [are] the eyes which see the things that ye see:
24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen [them]; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard [them]. (Luke 10 KJV)

And again, in private, they asked Him regarding the signs of the end:

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? (Matthew 24 KJV)

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? (Mark 13 KJV)

It was not only Christ and His disciples that required a private audience. Paul’s nephew needed to tell the captain of the guard that there was a Jewish plot to kill Paul from which he needed protecting:

19 Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went [with him] aside privately, and asked [him], What is that thou hast to tell me?
20 And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.
21 But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee. (Acts 23 KJV)

In a slightly more complex QC comparison, we find Paul telling the Galatian congregation of his sharing of the Gospel in private only with trusted leaders in Jerusalem to ensure the Good News was not polluted by non-believers. It appears that previously false brethren had entered secretly to spy on this passing of the Gospel. However, it looks like they were discovered. This sounds like the giving of the news of the Gospel was protected by the heavenly QC’s own more powerful encryption code to keep out the agents of spyware:

2 And I went up by revelation; and I laid before them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles but privately before them who were of repute, lest by any means I should be running, or had run, in vain.
3 But not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:
4 and that because of the false brethren privily brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: (Galatians 2 ASV)

God’s prophecies were not encrypted. They were made clear to all by the Holy Spirit through God’s chosen prophets. Today’s equivalent, I guess, could be deemed to be You Tube which provides unencumbered broadcasts for all who have the desire to view. This does, however, come with the login requirement of the Satanic owner, Google. God requires no such sign-in for His prophetic Word except the willingness to hear it:

19 And we have more firm the prophetic word, to which we do well giving heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, till day may dawn, and a morning star may arise -- in your hearts;
20 this first knowing, that no prophecy of the Writing doth come of private exposition,
21 for not by will of man did ever prophecy come, but by the Holy Spirit borne on holy men of God spake. (2 Peter 1 YLT)

You Tube, however, can also present fake news. This is today’s equivalent of false prophets and teachers and will be exposed as such at the appropriate time in God’s plan:

1 And there did come also false prophets among the people, as also among you there shall be false teachers, who shall bring in besides destructive sects, and the Master who bought them denying, bringing to themselves quick destruction, (2 Peter 2 YLT)

A similar role to the prophets was given to Jesus’ disciples. Firstly, they were told that all of mankind’s secrets will be uncovered. Again, this sounds like the great quantum computer in the sky decrypting all men’s secret thoughts and deeds. The disciples would be privy to the good news of the Kingdom which will be given to them in an unbreakable code. But then they were tasked with broadcasting that message in the clear to all and sundry:

26 Therefore do not fear them; for there is nothing covered over that will not become uncovered, and secret that will not become known.
27 What I tell you in the darkness, say in the light; and what you hear whispered, preach from the housetops. (Matthew 10 NWT)

That broadcasting of the good news was foretold in the Book of Psalms:

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. (Psalms 46 ASV)

It would appear that bad news from God’s Prophets can also be delivered in secret as King Zedekiah discovered when Jeremiah told him that he would be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon:

17 Then Zedekiah the king sent, and fetched him: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from Jehovah? And Jeremiah said, There is. He said also, Thou shalt be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon. (Jeremiah 37 ASV)

More generally, King Solomon identifies the difference between a broadcaster of secrets and one who keeps his own counsel. The digital example of a slanderer may have hacked into a system and sent private information to the dark web for malicious purposes (check out:
 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_web):

13 One going with slander is a revealer of secrets, but the faithful of spirit keeps a matter hidden. (Proverbs 11 GLT)

19 He that goeth about [as] a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips. (Proverbs 20 KJV)

Solomon makes a similar comment, made famous by the lyrics of the Pete Seeger song ‘Turn, Turn, Turn’, regarding times to keep one’s knowledge private and when to make it publicly available:

7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; (Ecclesiastes 3 KJV)

And in case of any doubt, Solomon reminds us to keep others' private information to ourselves:

9 Debate thy cause with thy neighbor [himself], And disclose not the secret of another; (Proverbs 25 ASV)

Communication can also take place on the dark web to avoid detection. Thus was the manner of King Saul asking his servants to entice David secretly to marry his daughter. Pleasant as this might seem at first sight, this was the commencement of Saul’s plot to do away with David’s challenge to the kingship of Israel. I think one can tell from Saul’s unctuous words that he sounds like Grok, the
Artificial Intelligence product and therefore was not to be trusted:

22 And Saul commanded his servants, [saying], Commune with David secretly, and say, Behold, the king hath delight in thee, and all his servants love thee: now therefore be the king's son in law. (1 Samuel 18 KJV)

Dark Deeds

It is not just dark communication that takes place in secret. We also have dark physical acts taking place in secret such as Joab did to Abner. It is expected that dark acts as well as communication will be appropriately decrypted and acted upon by our Lord come judgement day:

27 And Abner returned to Hebron. And Joab turned him aside into the middle of the gate, to speak with him privately. And [he] struck him in the belly there, and he died, because of the blood of his brother Asahel. (2 Samuel 3 GLT)

We also have Paul’s warning to the congregation at Thessalonica to work honestly on one’s own business, thereby warding off any temptation to hack anyone else’s digitally connected private affairs for gain or mischief:

11 and to make it your aim to live quietly and to mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we ordered you; (1 Thessalonians 4 NWT)

Similarly, David warns us to keep our peace and not to concern ourselves with the evil doers who are making their fortunes in this world:

7 Be silent for Jehovah, and stay thyself for Him, Do not fret because of him Who is making prosperous his way, Because of a man doing wicked devices. (Psalms 37 YLT)

Good Deeds and Prayers

In today’s world, scripture tells us to perform good deeds and pray to God privately and He will reward us openly for that. In the case of merciful deeds towards others, it may also be to protect the recipient from having any shame he may have, associated with his needing to receive help. Overtly this is telling us not to be boastful of these righteous acts of mercy and prayer. In the Kingdom, whilst we will be in a much more open society, I expect these rules will still apply for sensitive or genuinely private matters:

4 so that your merciful deeds may be in secret. And your Father seeing in secret Himself will repay you in the open.
5 And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the open streets so that they may be seen of men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.
6 But you, when you pray, enter into your room and shutting your door, pray to your Father in secret. And your Father seeing in secret will repay you in the open. (Matthew 6 GLT)

This was a  message earlier stated by David, making it clear that God knows His loyal servants and will hear them from their spiritual hearts in private:

3 So take knowledge that Jehovah will certainly distinguish his loyal one; Jehovah himself will hear when I call to him.
4 Be agitated, but do not sin. Have your say in your heart, upon your bed, and keep silent. Selah. (Psalms 4 NWT)

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing before You, O Jehovah, my Rock and my Redeemer. (Psalms 19 GLT)

A lesson Jesus Himself followed on several occasions as repeated throughout the Gospel accounts:

23 and having let away the multitudes, he went up to the mountain by himself to pray, and evening having come, he was there alone, (Matthew 14 YLT)

36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. (Matthew 26 KJV)

35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. (Mark 1 KJV)

46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land. (Mark 6 KJV)

16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed. (Luke 5 KJV)

12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. (Luke 6 KJV)

18 Later, while he was praying alone, the disciples came together to him, and he questioned them, saying: Who are the crowds saying that I am? (Luke 9 NWT)

41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, (Luke 22 KJV)

It is difficult to contemplate that a prospective murder could be considered to be a good deed except that it be considered to be an act of self-defence against a prospective and real aggressor. Johanan’s secret offer to Gedaliah to slay Ishmael to protect Gedaliah was made with the best of intentions to protect him and the Jews under his care. An offer that he would not have wanted shared abroad:

15 Then Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me go, I pray thee, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know [it]: wherefore should he slay thee, that all the Jews which are gathered unto thee should be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish? (Jeremiah 40 KJV)

Private Time

Sometimes we just need some time on our own, perhaps in times of grieving or emotional upset, so that we can collect our thoughts and composure. Today we can still do exactly as Joseph and physically escape to another private place to be alone for a while. In the computer analogy, this could be to exit from a social media conversation or simply by switching off from the connected device:

30 And Joseph made haste; for his heart yearned over his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there. (Genesis 43 ASV)

Conclusion

Having now gone through some relevant scriptures, I feel that my thoughts of extending the spiritual/QM (
Quantum Mechanics) parallels into the realm of QC is not so far-fetched as it might have seemed at first. Clearly the scriptures have much to say about privacy in one context or another. It did not prove to be difficult to find parallels to today’s internet connections and particularly in a QC context. God operates like the great quantum computer in the sky with all of us mortal men connected to Him for good or bad via His heavenly internet. Amen.
